My sister's Mississippi Maternity Session - waiting to meet Caroline!

As the blue moon rose last night, my little sister was admitted into the hospital to prepare for her daughter’s arrival. My niece should be here today!!! It seems fitting on this special occasion to share photos from Heather’s maternity session captured last month in Rocky Springs, off the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. It was the perfect location for this nature loving couple to capture such a special time in their lives.

I am always over the moon to get to photograph my beautiful sister, and she never ceases to amaze with her style and fashion sense. This session was no exception. Her gorgeous deep red gown was stunning, fitted perfectly to show off that baby bump and the color was a fabulous contrast to the vibrant greens in the woods and the browns of the sand and water. It was so much fun to get to capture her with her adoring husband, preserving such a special time in their lives. I am so thankful we managed to get to do our session between huge rainstorms and that all worked out for my quick visit that weekend. After all the storms, the water was much higher and muddier than expected, but it seemed fitting for this couple that married during a hurricane last fall to have dramatic weather for this session as well. 10 months to the day from their wedding, I was back to photograph this adorable bump. Now we wait for baby. We cannot wait to meet you, Caroline!
